ABSTRACT
Objetivo: Revisão integrativa da literatura, que identificou, descreveu e julgou a qualidade de instrumentos para avaliar a satisfação com próteses dentárias totais removíveis na perspectiva dos seus usuários, e propôs modelo teórico para tal avaliação. Métodos: Estudos encontrados na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), através dos descritores "denture" e "satisfaction", foram selecionados por distintos pesquisadores que julgaram os domínios: confiabilidade, validade, responsividade e interpretabilidade. Resultados: Dos 1769 estudos encontrados, 27 foram julgados, nenhum considerou todos os domínios. Quanto à confiabilidade, estimaram a consistência interna em três, o teste-reteste/reprodutibilidade em um, a amostragem probabilística em um e não se observou o controle dos erros sistemáticos. Estudo da validade de conteúdo foi verificada em estudo diferente das análises de construto, responsividade a interpretabilidade. Conclusão: Há necessidade da criação de um instrumento de avaliação da satisfação com próteses dentárias totais removíveis na perspectiva dos seus usuários, e submissão do mesmo a todas as fases de validação, bem como a comprovação do modelo teórico proposto.(AU)
Aim: This study is an integrative systematic review of the literature, which identified, described, and judged the quality of the instruments used to evaluate patient satisfaction with total removable dentures from the user's perspective. This study also proposed a model for such an assessment. Methods: Studies found in the Virtual Health Library (BVS), under the keywords of "denture" and "satisfaction", were selected for distinguished researchers, who judged the domains of reliability, validity, responsiveness, and interpretability. Results: Of the 1,769 studies found in the literature, 27 were judged and none considered all of the domains. As for reliability, internal consistency was estimated in three, test-retest/reproducibility in one, and probability sampling in one, while none considered the control of systematic errors. The validity of content was found in one study, while the validity of the construct, responsiveness, and interpretability were not conducted in previous studies included. Conclusion: There is a need to create an instrument to assess patient satisfaction with removable total dental prostheses from the users' perspective, to submit this instrument to all validation phases, as well as to prove the proposed theoretical model.(AU)
